We now invite you to join first and then add information about a particular clock. The more clocks you enter, the more Clock Credits you earn to continue free access to the information in The Clock Register.

We will ask you some questions about the clock you wish to record, including about:



  • the type of clock
  • its mechanism and measurements
  • the case, or building, that houses the clock
  • the clock's ownership history
  • the people who worked on or repaired the clock




You can choose between answering:



  • basic questions onlydefinition: basic questions => Basic questions are questions that can be answered without taking the clock apart. to earn up to 86 Clock Credits, or
  • advanced questionsdefinition: advanced questions => Advanced questions include the basic questions as well as questions that you typically can only answer by taking the clock apart. to earn up to 174 Clock Credits.
